Eternal Gardens is a relaxed role-playing game in which our greatest goal is to make sure our members feel welcomed and are having fun. As an organic forum we are always eager to expand our world - add more creatures, plants, plots, nations, whatever it is you can dream up! The setting of the world has been laid out with care for you to enjoy, but there is no overruling plot. Instead, the members have full control of this world through their own member-based plots - make nations rise and fall or focus on the more humble pursuits of farming and raising a family. Play with serious and dramatic intentions or tumble through the village riding an edge of comedy and entertaining adventures - you will find the tools and resources for all types of play available here.
Centuries ago there was a great war that destroyed much of the rich civilizations that once flourished on the planet. Back then mortals and gods, demons and spirits existed beside one another, as they had for all time. At the climax of the war, when it seemed as though all life would be consumed, a desperate goddess cast a devastating spell that split the energies of the planet apart from one another. Now the most powerful gods are trapped within their own realms, leaving the mortals alone to attempt to recover and rebuild.
Placid peace - other than the usual wars and skirmishes - has settled over the mortal realm, who struggle to fill the gaps where their stores of ancient knowledge and the aid of the gods once stood. Yet the energies were never meant to be separated and the spell shakes the planet to its core, threatening to destroy all... even while the spell itself is all that stands between the weaker mortals and the gods who would conquer them.
For now, life goes on. From the distant ashes of that great war the mortal people have begun to learn of a life without the gods walking by their side, though they find ways to communicate through the realms. Countries rise, old knowledge is found again and made new, villages prosper, and the dramas of mortality and magic intertwine to make a world rich in adventure and possibilities.
