Otherworldy Races

Here is a list of the known races that lie in other worlds, along with bits of information that have been gathered about them. Some are vague whispers that hide in the shadow of rumor, waiting for an eager writer to flesh out their world and culture. Others are firmly established and have more specific guidelines for their culture, appearance, and behavior. Due to the expansive nature of our world custom races are allowed - as long as everyone feels that their characteristics fit into Laia without too much discord. We are always willing to work with new ideas to find a way to make them work, so don't hesitate to ask!

Demons

The more terrifying, aggressive creatures of the Holy and Dark realms. There are an endless variety of demons, but they are separated from yokai and common spirits due to the edge of danger they possess for all other beings. The majority of demons care for little more than indiscriminate slaughter, though there are the odd few who are of more companionable natures.

Gods

Gods and Goddesses, be they Holy or Dark, are beings who were either born into their role or gained it through the growth of their powers, abilities, or the tangled, confusing strings of fate. What actually causes a god or goddess to come into existence is beyond comprehension even unto themselves. There are a vast number of gods; they range from crushingly powerful beings who watch over entire nations to tiny spirits that can be pestered and bullied by children. Some gods are gods of specialties that they were born of, such as the fox-god that watches over golden wheat fields before harvest, while other gods simply exist as themselves and select their specialties as a matter of taste and personal power.

Quilteens?

A silly plush race living in the world of Villa De Mignon. They are made of fluff and sewn and stitched together. It is said that their creator, the Tinker Grey, was so filled with sadness and dispair that he stuffed and fluffed all the people and buildings in the town, and even renamed it, (Old name hidden within the Scrolls of Time, in a library in the village.) These creatures are sort of backwards, growing for a what they live in, eating what should not be eaten. They generally do not like outsiders, however, maybe if you dress up in a sort of costume on a special day, you will be welcomed just as any.
